Our Mission
The mission of the Louisville Arts District (LAD) is to develop and promote Historic Downtown Louisville as a distinctive regional center for the arts to benefit member enterprises and the community as a whole.
Location
The Louisville Arts District is located in the heart Historic Downtown Louisville, named by Money Magazine as the #1 place to live in America for an unprecedented two years in a row.
The core of the LAD starts in the 900 block (bounded by Main, South, Front and Walnut Streets) plus the adjoining Library and Museum with expectations to expand into adjoining blocks.
The district offers an array of art galleries,related shops and businesses: from sculpture-to-performing arts, décor and design-to-café and wine, galleries-to-frozen treats; repurposed fashion -to-designer couture; custom jewelry-to-organic markets; music classes-to-web design; CAD design-to-CPA; yoga-to-salons and spas.
The interest in Louisville as a robust center of the arts is creating a palpable verve for community members as well as attracting patrons from outlying areas. Visitors enjoy the diverse art scene and often mix art with food, taking advantage of many sumptuous dining choices in casual walking distance from the LAD.
